This "Pass-Off" System requires 150 points to get full credit.  The songs are setup into groups from level 1 songs to level 5 songs.  Level 1 songs are fairly easy in difficulty and they gradually get harder as you move toward level 5 songs.  To pass off a song, the student must receive at least a grade of 90 percent accuracy on any given song.  A student can attempt to pass off any song in Smartmusic as long as they wish.  When they get 90 percent or better, they can send the recording and the grade they received by Smartmusic to me by email.  I will listen to the recording and give a grade and average the two grades together.  If the grade is 90 percent or better than they pass the song and get credit for the song.

Each level of songs count differently according to their difficulty.  Below is the breakdown.

As you can see it would only take 3 level 5 songs to equal 150 points but these songs, for most students,  would require a lot of practice to pass off.  Or a student could choose to do the easier level 1 songs, but it would take 15 level 1 songs to get the 150 points.  I imagine most students will mix up the level of songs to get the 150 points.
