Welcome Back! I hope everyone had an excellent summer and perhaps even opened their instrument case now and then to blow the dust off! This year looks like it will be full of excellent concerts for us to play and see.
I was able to take a trip this summer to Europe. I went to Germany (Düsseldorf, Köln, Bonn, Eisenach, Halle, Leipzig and Berlin) and Netherlands (Amsterdam), Switzerland (Interlochen), and Italy (Genova, Rome, Venice). It was great! I saw a ton of concerts and composers' homes (Bach, Beethoven, Handel, Mendelssohn, Paganini and Vivaldi). If I get some time, I will put some video up of where I went.
This year I want to try to keep the webpage going better than last year. It does take time though to take video footage of concerts, edit and upload them. I will try to see if I can get a high school strings' student to help. Let me know if there is anyone interested.
This is not a great picture since it was so bright up on top of Jungfrauhoch in Interlochen, Switzerland. This was after we came out of the Glacier on top of the moutain around 12,000 ft.
This was taken in Bonn, Germany this past summer and former assistant band teacher Ron Jonson and myself in front of the statue of Beethoven. Ludwig van Beethoven was born in Bonn, Germany.
This was taken in Halle, Germany the place where Handel was born.
This was in Rome, Italy at Piazza di Popolo.
