Mr. Murch

I recently had the opportunity to go to Europe this summer for two weeks and went to Paris, Florence and a number of places in Germany. To see some of my pictures I took while I was there click here.
This is my sixth year teaching orchestra at McCants Middle School now. I grew up here in Anderson and recieved my Bachlors in Music Composition from the University of South Carolina. I play the violin and viola with the GAMAC Orchestra and Anderson Symphony Orchestra.
Since I have a degree in composition, I like to write music for my school orchestras. This has led me to have one of my works published by Alfred Publishing. The piece is called "String Celebration". I wrote this piece for one of my string classes.

When I graduated from college, I thought that my greatest passion was composing, but once I began teaching, I knew that I had a new passion. I think the middle school years are the most impressionable years for any student.
